Stop Waiting to Feel Like It

Motivation usually shows up after you start, not before.

You're waiting to feel like it. Waiting to wake up one morning ready, energized, finally in the mood to start. And it just... doesn't come. So you wait some more. And then you start wondering what's wrong with you.

Nothing is wrong with you. Motivation is a feeling, and feelings come and go like weather. Some days it shows up. Most days it doesn't even send a text.

Here's the part nobody tells you: motivation usually shows up after you start, not before. You don't feel like cleaning the kitchen, then you put away three dishes and suddenly you're wiping down counters. You don't feel like walking, then you're five minutes in and glad you went.

So what if you stopped waiting for the feeling and just made the first step so small it doesn't need motivation at all?

Not "work out." Put your shoes on.

Not "clean the house." Clear one counter.

Not "write the thing." Open the document.

That's it. You're allowed to stop after that. Sometimes you will. Sometimes you'll keep going. Either way, you did something, and doing something is how you start trusting yourself again.

And if you don't feel like it? Perfect. Do it anyway, gently. You don't need to be fired up. You just need to begin.

Always, be real.
